Why not link to the audiophile forum instead of a Twitter reminder? https://www.audioasylum.com/messages/pcaudio/119979/

It supports scrolling up to 7 pixels but after that you have to actually move the memory backing the screen, and the cpu is slow enough that it’s pretty hard to do.

A device that can do this would be more expensive than a ssd the size of any reasonable amount of memory someone would have laying around. I appreciate the idea as an interesting hacker experiment but it has no practical value.

Whiptail uses the newt widget library (which uses the slang library), if you want that kind of support it will have to be added there.

Why would you do this? A modern ssd outperforms the SATA interface.

Canon had this thing where they require toners that have rfid drm but due to the chip shortages they couldn’t get the tags. So they had to provide workarounds for ignoring the drm on the boxes.

Once an unreachable host magically got infected, it scanned the entire IP address space but hey, it was worse because some hosts were in a predefined part. NAT is bad because somehow magically a machine with an unroutable address can become

For the services that don’t allow their keys to be included in the backup this is a common occurrence and they will probably have a support system that will allow you to reset the authentication. Which makes 2fa worthless theatre but that’s

Similarly, your comment is a good example of the anti NAT cargo cult mentality that people think is smart but really isn’t. The reality is that NAT has greatly improved the security of the internet, because before NAT people were exposing e

With NAT it is impossible to make a mistake that causes machines with a private address to become reachable to the internet. That is a reality that is not going anywhere, no matter if you like it or not, no matter if you think it is stupid

Sendfile() works fine and is pretty fast and avoids this whole problem so you’re not going to convince me it’s impossible or that having the kernel read a file into a buffer and then send it somewhere is fast while taking a copy-on-write on

Of course it is possible to give a randomized portion of subjects additional vitamin D and the rest a placebo and see if one portion is less likely to develop a disease than the other.

I’m not sure why you’re trying to convince me it can’t work like the documentation says it does. Is the documentation wrong?

The call is only supposed to return when all the data has been sent, so both. This whole discussion is just about retransmits. This does not make the call useless as the performance gain is supposed to be from avoiding copying the data from

The splice system call could simply not return until the acknowledgment is in. That doesn’t solve the problem completely though because if a packet is dropped, it has to be retransmitted but the original data might have been modified which

There’s more services that have free tiers but I doubt that is sustainable and I’m really not interested in periodically rushing to fix things if the next service starts turning the thumbscrews.
