Can you confirm that you don’t recommend storing session tokens in localStorage / anything accessible by client-side JS? (It’s a commonly recommended bad practice these days)

Hey, I'm a JS dev who's been splashing around in rails for the past year or so. I'm happy to help! I just had a similar issue this morning, and I asked in the Ruby on Rails Link slack [1]. They're pretty helpful in there

Interesting.. how often can you find the publisher offering a drm free copy? I buy _a lot_ of books (usually one or two per week), and I have a feeling I’d only find 1 in 5 from a publisher but haven’t checked. Also, I always do the “try a

Darn, Firefox Send was excellent. end-to-end encryption, user-friendly, backed by a reputable privacy-focused company.. Anyone know a decent alternative?

Cool! I use MailPlane but would be happy to try this out. I'd need two things though: gmail-style keyboard shortcuts (or at least sufficient alternatives) and a way to link myself to an email (so I can put a link to an email into my ta

Unfortunately with encrypted mail like ProtonMail you can't setup email filters that act on the contents of the email; only the headers. This makes it harder to keep organised and fight unwanted mail so I've gone with fastmail

Actually you can use d3's maths functions standalone and then use react or vue's declarative templating to render. It's not too dissimilar from what you'd have to know using d3 DSL directly. Here's an example: http

I’m hoping to implement this in my organisation very soon. There are still a couple things I need to figure out: 1. How do I articulate the criteria for when a decision should have an ADR? 2. I always see ADRs in the context of recording

I've tried a lot of note taking apps over the last 8 years. Over the past few months I've become less fussed about the tools and more focused on the process: I now have a file for each week (I call it a journal or weekly notes), w

I love the idea of this, but I’m trying to move my team away from synchronous communication. That tends to put us back in email, though that has its own problems. What is the asynchronous version of zulip? Forums?
