I actually searched HN for “llm budget” because I wanted an LLM to help me sort one out, and not have to deal with correcting categorisations and such. And your app sounds like exactly what I searched for. But when I got there, I found myse

Yep! https://magicnotes.ai It’s pretty neat once you get over the initial weirdness. Unlocks a lot of potential. But because it’s new, there are fewer conventions, so you have to come up with them and be consistent.

I degoogled my life out of principle—that one was about privacy. I feel strongly about this one too (in fact I just migrated from kindle to kobo for similar reasons), but where else is there to go? Some rooted android phone with Google play

For what it's worth, I was worried about that as well, but I found it to be _fun_, and I actually look forward to playing with it, even before bed. Weird, I know, but I'm enjoying it and didn't think I would.

I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t do that. I’ve only been using Home Assistant for a few months, but off the top of my head I reckon I could do that with an automation. The catch is that you may have to set that automation up yourself

What do you mean color version? As an aside, I get what you mean in the context of my earlier comment, but just to clarify for anyone reading, you can use alexa and Google home devices with home assistant (eg to send commands and as media p

I switched to Home Assistant a couple months ago (because I didn't like the idea of my voice being sent to amazon constantly) and haven't looked back! Soo much more you can do (including immediately using an LLM, if you like, whet

I think that’s en-dash (–, used for ranges). Em-dash (—, used mid-sentence for asides etc) is the same combo but with shift as well.

Does anyone know if vector tiles could carry adequate data to facilitate reverse geocoding (address lookup)? E.g. the polygon of a building containing its street address in its metadata. I’m surprised I haven’t seen that before, as reverse

But doesn’t that still write the secrets to disk? I thought the point of 1pass CLI was so you could avoid having unencrypted secrets on disk?

Recent versions of rails takes this approach. But I’ve wondered: is it possible to avoid copying the key onto disk, and leave it in 1Password, eg via their cli?

One of the best ideas I’ve heard for having Slack without the pressure to keep up with it is to configure it to delete messages after a short time period. This lets you keep the live chat going with those who are around, but people know to

That sounds like a pretty reasonable solution, just doing it for the ‘crown jewels’. The OTP in the password manager one is another thing I’ve struggled to wrap my head around. There’s an interesting conversation about it with folks at 1Pas
