Fantastic list! By the way, adventofcode.com is currently ongoing. Though the challenges are easy compared to the projects in this list, I highly recommend it. It covers problems you might face in big projects. With these small puzzles it&#

Totally agree. Especially with al the Electron crap and such. But, I'm afraid you won't be able to change that, and that it'll only be getting worse.

What about the performance though? I believe these older models can be unbearably slow, just to browse the web with. For some of my friends this is a problem just because of the limited RAM, but you won't be able to upgrade it because

So, this only occurs when manually invoking ChkDsk with repair, or when Windows decides to do so on bad shutdown? I don't understand how such core things break in Windows.

Yes! It takes some work to switch, but it's worth it. Buy your own domain name, and link it to an existing service if you don't want to host yourself. You'll always be able to switch your mail alias when having issues with yo

What is Tailwind's performance like? It seems like a ginormous CSS (and JS?) blob for a rather simple visual design.

Thanks for linking ffsend! You can also use it in your browser, like Send, at `send.vis.ee`. ffsend uses this host, but I don't widely advertise it's address to prevent overloading the server with spam.

This essentially allows you to infect all (online) machines running Teams in some timespan, because of the wormability, if I understand this correctly. There are 115 million daily active users. The absurdly low rating by Microsoft is horren

Though TUIs have its place, this totally destroys the ability for text processing used a lot on Unix platforms where a more simple output would suffice. For some applications like this it might be better to go for a non-terminal GUI anyway.

I recommend to use your own email domain with it. If you're ever locked out or want to switch, you can easily switch while keeping the same address.

I agree, please host it yourself. If your server is somewhat fast, supports HTTP2 and whatnot, clients will be able to pull these assets in crazy fast. If you're hosting a ginormous website a CDN might become interesting to improve wor

Great article. Would like to see this become a reality. I'm not so sure about this idea though, if Microsoft would ever take this path, it'll probably be far far in the future. I think Microsoft releases and Edge version for Linux

Pretty much. They suddenly took it down for 'maintenance'. The relaunch was delayed. Mozilla released a statement on laying off 250 employees. That's when I figured it wouldn't come back online again.

Sad! Developer of `ffsend` here. I've built `ffsend` as CLI tool for Send to securely share files from the command line. It has been a great success! Thanks Mozilla, for building and providing this amazing service! For the interested:

That's awesome to hear! You can still use ffsend for now, it still works and uses the Send instance I'm hosting (send dot vis dot ee). Some generous users started sponsoring me through GitHub, so that'll definitely help keep

You're right! Luckily files have a maximum lifetime of 1 day, which helps with storage. Almost no computing needed. Expensive en/decrypting operations are done on the client.
