I used to love CircleCI then they broke all my CI jobs when they deprecated their "Convenience image". Rather than continue to maintain CircleCI jobs and pay them for the pleasure I am just migrating to GH actions. It is painful.

I have a build out similar to the one you describe in my basement :P Few comments: The mining GPU setups have almost no bandwidth to the GPUs and are not suitable. You should use hardware like https://www.ebay.com/itm/2

Just gave the developer $50 so he doesn't need to reduce monthly costs. I like the service running well.

Yes but I have owned several with no issues. I usually will only buy from sellers who have lots of positive feedback. New sellers have nothing to lose.

Prices are falling quickly. 3090 was ~$900 on ebay last week. You can now pick one up for $600. Look at the auctions buy it now prices take longer to drop.

ML/AI is the deep end of python dependencies. Lots of hardware specific requirements (e.g. CUDA, cuDNN, AVX2 TensorFlow binaries, etc). A typical python web application is a lot simpler.

I lived in SF for ~8 years and left during COVID and bought a house. I have worked remote for 5 years (long before covid). My quality of life is just better not living in SF. I should have left earlier. It is all of the reasons you listed a
