I use Forklift for those things. I hardly ever touch Finder. It isn't free, but it's a great orthodox-style file manager (with optional Norton Commander keys) with many other features.

That's where 'safe place' comes in. It's the intended use of backup codes.

I know it seems lo-tech, but it's a good idea to print out the ten Gmail recovery codes and keep them in a safe place. I've done the same for GitHub too.

I'm in the habit of stashing a few UPS units around the house, so the home network has coverage.... I think my ISP in the UK (BT) offer a fibre package that has battery backup, probably for customers that have medical or emergency devi

Incredibly valuable for me. When exploring something new, I journal as I go. If a side task has to be parked, I can pick up again months later because I use it as a knowledgebase. Also, a quick scan for #gotcha in my notes reminds me of sub

I'd say heat the person, not the space. Following on from the Electric Blanket mention, I'd recommend a heated vest. I have one made by Arris [1], and it has a 7.4V battery. Following a tip in an Amazon review, I contacted their

For supermarket milk at least, I can only remember seeing both units for quite a while. I had a glance at the one in our fridge, and it says "2.272L 4 pints" on the label.

If you use Spotify, I'd recommend searching for "Opera Explained" by David Timson. A number of popular operas are in the series, and Timson is excellent at giving a colourful bio of the composer, plot synopsis, and excerpts p

I use noise before sleeping due to some mild tinnitus. I tried the Alexa/Spotify approach for a while, but didn't like the gaps between the tracks or anything else that would make me take notice of the background sound. I ended up

Just a personal recommendation for domestic use. I use two Bosch 36V 4.0AH batteries for their mower, strimmer, and leaf blower. For long tasks, I put the first battery on charge as soon as depleted and switch to the second one. I haven

Their advice hasn't been updated for a long time, and is for 400 IU. During Covid, plenty of medics in the media were recommending about 2000 IU, perhaps a bit more. Studies are emerging, so time will tell I guess.

It looks like a good update, but I'm starting to give up hope on seeing ARA2 as a feature... :-( Something that wasn't a problem for $200 Logic Pro or even $60 Reaper (with their two-person dev team).
