I already love my Snapdragon X1 Plus laptop, but it's great for Windows on ARM to see such big improvements year-over-year. It really is the best version of Windows if you don't game: the performance is great, no issues with legac

It's a very rambling article, but the data is interesting.

What's the point for Reddit? I know that history has shown that they're not afraid to lose goodwill from their community, but it looks like every social media out there is relaxing its rules around harmful content right now.

No issues so far, almost 1 year in, but I don't use specialized software: only web browsers, Office suite, Obsidian, Dropbox, PowerToys, FileZilla, Putty, VLC, Notepad++, WSL and random .exe utilities. I've found the emulation to

I wish Framework offered a laptop with an ARM64 processor. I have a Surface Laptop 7 with a Snapdragon CPU on Windows 11 and it's been awesome so far. Insane battery life, especially in standby. I can reopen it after 48 hours and it on

I absolutely loved the failed demos, it felt much more genuine than Apple's conference.

The failures on stage were kind of endearing, to be honest, especially the one with Zuck. Plus the products seem really cool, I hope I'll be able to try them out soon.

It's not the end of the fight, but it's great to see that the efforts are working! I sent a handwritten letter to my MPs a few weeks ago about this issue but no answer so far...

I'm also on Android with the Plus subscription and I also get this. It usually reconnects by itself a few seconds later, but if it doesn't, I've found that you can get to the answer by closing the app and reopening it.

Do you have a source that shows that popular VPN providers such as Mullvad or NordVPN actually sell your residential internet to third parties? That's a bold claim, but pretty scary if true.

    by timpera 1y ago

I think Mullvad's market share is still pretty low compared to NordVPN, which actually cornered the market thanks to their suspiciously large advertising budget.

Port forwarding is really easy with PIA's client. I had to switch to them because Mullvad doesn't offer port forwarding anymore unfortunately.

Anubis is extremely slow on low-end devices, it often takes >30 seconds to complete. Users deserve better, but I guess it's still a better experience than reCaptcha or Cloudflare.

Cloudflare is being really annoying lately. It looks like they desesperately want to close the web to get their 30% fee on AI crawling fees.

Both! It's a Surface Laptop 7, the hardware is great but I believe the experience would not be nearly as good with a x86 chip. I'm especially thinking about the battery life (insane standby times!).

I really don't see it abandoned. ARM laptops represented 10% of Windows laptop shipments in 2024, including Surface laptops (which have a great track record of being supported for a long time).

Oh, this is pretty cool. How do they get around the anti-scraping protection? It must be pretty hard to consistently scrape so much data.
