This article does not talk about Vi vs. Emacs. Is the title editorializing?

Movable Type was already open source. Their FAQ is unclear to me why this was forked in the first place. Wouldn't it be better to contribute improvements back to the actual product?

What's gitosis? I was thinking of installing Gitorious, but from the sounds of it, it's quite complicated. Yes, it's a Rails app, but there are lots of background queued activities, cron jobs, daemons, whatever to setup alongside it for thi

This seems at first glance to be a really decent, beautiful (and up-to-date) tutorial for getting on Rails. A little sad it's taken this long for the basic beginner documentation to get caught up with the code, though.

Yes, I'm a Christian, but I don't think (since it's hypothetical) the example would offend me. It's not uncommon to to make fun of evangelicals and the religious-right on the web, so I try not to take things like that too seriously. I perso

I didn't realize how similar Vlad is to Capistrano, even down to the way it is setup (config/deploy.rb) and task names and such. Can someone tell me why it is so much better? (I can read the website myself, but really it seems to be the sam

Not really. That was just enough to get me to read the Wikipedia article to figure out what the heck they were talking about in that movie. It made the student sound super smart, but most people I know didn't have a clue what they were sayi
