My understanding of that was that is currently the only way to do WebRTC in a one to many scenario, so not sure I'd say they're pretending.

I hope Discord manages to find a sustainable business model. Feature-wise, it makes Teams and Slack look primitive. The author's example of the SUaQ discord is a good one. It is pretty incredible to experience first hand. It isn't

I did this for a long time. I had random looking recurring meetings on my calendar called things like "Backlog Grooming" and "JIRA Ticket XYZ-1923". It cut down on the bullshit meetings for a while, but people eventually

There is a step somewhere in there where we waste 30 minutes playing "agile poker" and arguing about the number of story points required to close vim. The whole thing is followed up with a two hour retrospective where we pat ourse

Many of my clients are behind MITM proxies that force a downgrade to 1.1, so I end up having to optimize for 1.1 and minimize total requests anyway. We've started down the path of GraphQL to aggregate requests, but it feels so counter

I do not have first hand experience with it as it is illegal. But I've done a lot of research and it seems that under controlled conditions it can help people a lot.

It is 2020. Just legalize it already. And legalize DMT and mushrooms while you're at it. So many can benefit from these natural and relatively safe remedies.

I also found Asmongold this way and did catch a couple of his streams. The big draw on twitch is community/participation. That's not my thing so I didn't stick around. I'd be interested to know conversion rates, but I ha

This reminds me a lot of the PHP e-commerce site a family friend asked me to fix after his offshore programmer ghosted. It had a lot of this sort of stuff plus a lot of variables/functions/comments/etc written in Russian or U

It also depends a lot on the nature of the workload. For IO bound workloads (like most web services), Fargate can easily be an order of magnitude cheaper than Lambda. But if your task is soaking the CPU then you can really get your money&#x

That plus a nice table syntax. So many times I need to put a table in a jira comment or chat, but not often enough to remember how for the particular context.

The narrative is that the app using the camera is a bug. I don't know what to think about that yet. On one hand, I expect Facebook (and many other things) to spy on users in every way possible. On the other, it seems to be the rear fac

Using DNT as an opt out mechanism is beyond ridiculous. It doesn't impact us yet (EE) luckily. This would put us in a tough spot as we are required to control this sort of thing, but have no way enforcing it with our third party develo

Ya, it isn't even close to meeting the legal definition of treason. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see the author of such a tweet call it treason all the same. It is an interesting question.

I am intrigued. Regarding pub/sub messaging, the docs are thin to say the least. It seems the user brings their own pub/sub broker. Is that correct?

I've been trying to make sense of 2.4.5 for a while and have come up short. So thank you for that insight. It is frustrating working in an environment where the ASVS is held up as infallible...

My one experience with Apple support was a complete disappointment. iOS 11 made my iPhone 6+ unusable. Their only suggestion was to try rebooting it. This was right before the battery scandal broke.

There is a certain scale where the extra cost of the AWS managed offering surpasses the cost of hiring a full time engineer to manage your own. My company is way past that point. Like most things cloud, the answer is "it depends".

The managed ES service makes sense for small things where the operational costs of self managed dwarf the overhead. But at scale, it just doesn't make any sense. EC2 costs are so variable too due to reserve, spot, and elasticity (depen
