Shadow bans? That's a great idea. Probably even a better punishment than a full ban, too. I like jedberg's depreciation idea, too. Maybe a combination of these answers all scenarios.

On the surface, this seems like an elegant solution. However, it also seems to me like it would need exceptions. Since we are talking about online games, the topic of how to deal with people caught cheating (as in using third party cheating

Lambda has pretty good support for versioning and aliasing so you can control that sort of roll out.

I think it is a difficult topic to explain in lay terms. Your analogy made sense, but man was it wordy. I loved the diagrams! Nice article overall.

Great read. If you are interested in seeing charcoal production in action (on a small scale), Primitive Technology [0] has a nice short video walking through it. [0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzLvqCTvOQY

I wouldn't use it even if it was free. I don't want the market to grow in the direction FB is trying to take it. I don't want to subsidize it with my privacy.

I'm curious what your traffic looks like. Do you have any stats on how long clients spend traversing your dungeon? Which look like crawlers? Do they identify themselves and how so? It'd be awesome to have a stats page!

I feel so bad for Andrew. It must be frustrating to pour your heart into something beautiful like zig only to have this sort of thing happen. Now is a great time to sponsor the zig project on github!

I came here to say this as well. PayPal is garbage and should never be used, at least as a consumer. There are much better options available. I have never had PayPal side with me in any dispute, no matter how one sided it was. I closed my a

Gitlab's SaaS offering is an excellent product. It is absolutely worth paying for. Their free tier was and still is very generous. I hope this isn't a signal that they are having trouble. I've kind of naturally shifted 90+% o

You run an agent called the GitLab runner. You configure it with a token from your Gitlab.com group or repo (depending on where you want the runner to be available). You tag the runner and reference it by tagging CI jobs you want to run on

You would think the most obvious feature of something called "tag policies" would be the ability to prevent creation of resources that violate the policy. Of course, due to the way the AWS APIs work, it can't do this. Such a
