What's worse is this is fragmentation of the programming economy. I've found awesome bits of code written in Python that I can't use in PHP/Ruby/C++/etc, and various other combinations. There are great programmers working on great projects,

I never understand anyone saying this. There is not one, singular reddit; it's a series of sub-reddits combined to make your front page. If you didn't take the time to unsubscribe from most of the default subscribed sub-reddits and subscrib

With a 2 year contract for, roughly, $1900. Unlocked it's $649, so you can see why a similarly-spec'ed phone at half the price is kind of a big deal. If you got this with a contract, it would go for $49. Compare that to the Epic 4G Touch fo

Look into Sous Vide cooking. There was a big meme about it here on HN last year. It's vacuum cooking and let's you prep a ton of food passively to save you lots of time when getting it ready to eat. And it tastes better too. You could avoid

Hopefully, we can move to having Browser be a separately-installable app, like Gmail, Maps, YouTube, etc. I would love to have it updated as often as Chrome is on the desktop, and independently of the OS version.

Picplum bought Picwing and is essentially a rebranding of the same service, along with improvements. The testimonial holds because it's the same thing, just with an updated name.

Drupal made the switch to git (from CVS) not too long ago and it's worked wonders for them. It's still a challenge, but they should have an easier time coming from svn, if they were to make the switch. The tools for conversion are quite mat

I know this is a subjective thing, but I think the app's graphical style is somewhat ugly. If I'm supposed to be creating an attractive animation for my site, I want to be surrounded by a similarly attractive workspace. I know it's a nitpic

You can always do that if you trust the person enough. The idea with exchanges is essentially to act as an escrow service, but one where the two parties don't have to directly know who each other is. I don't think you can decentralize trust

I'm surprised Github integration isn't on their own roadmap. It would be killer to mark things as completed via commits and see code activity in one application.

It looks nice, but it doesn't feel quite right. Too much functionality depends on iconography, which leaves me having to map pictograms to actual words. It's OK for me to read some words. You're going to have to translate the interface an
