To me that's a surprising premise and an even bigger surprise in the conclusion. What makes you think A16Z wants to create a financial system without democratic oversight?

The problem that I see with some of the HN crowd and that becomes obvious when e.g. compared to lobste.rs is that HN has become quite political and non-technical. To see the difference, just regularly visit both HN and lobste.rs once a day

Sure they can upgrade and whatever. But from my experience, usually the projects that compromise on decentralization principles never ship anything useful in that direction anymore. Once an architecture is put in place and people are hired,

Polygon's ETH bridge is behind a proxy smart contract that is controlled by a 5 of 8 multi signature contract. Polygon has repeatedly made confusing statements towards their tech. In their FAQ, Polygon clearly states that they're

I try to never write a comment about anything that I've already written in code. I only add information that is necessary to know to run the code but is not in the code. I do it like this as I think that conceptually duplicating code l

Again, I think this is a rather theorerical argument. Retirement is not solely coupled to the amount of money you have. I personally have aspirations and enough money to not having to work for a few years. And still I work lots of hours to

That's a rather theoretical argument. If you were the sole owner of the world's land, then people would probably resort to kill or capture you to redistribute the land.

Hey, somehow I once did an internship at a subsidiary of Bosch. It's a super cool company structure! Check it on e.g. Wikipedia, it's such that Bosch's profits are sent to a non-profit that spends it on e g. education.
