My phone use is completely different to this. I mainly use it as a reading and text communication device. A phone is just a computer.

Relative to punch cards and writing in machine code, I imagine the statement was entirely correct. And still is.

I started playing the audio. I liked it. The text was right there matching what I was hearing. I just wish that it highlighted the word in the audio. I'd much prefer a tts version that does that, even if the voice quality is worse. The

I've been working on an app over a year. I think it needs to be considered that agent cli's only really released about a year ago. Before that, I was copy and pasting code between web chat windows into a terminal. Additionally, th

Not sure the intent of the question. Is the pen the car or the bicycle? To me bicycles are for health and for short distances. Cars are for heavy objects and long distances. I used to ride bicycles to the train station, then get a train to

I like the sound of nix but the disk space issue is a deal breaker for me - my sdd is always full. I run my main arch system in under 6GB. That's enough for qemu and wine and a few other bits which is all I need - the rest is in VMs Wo

I don't like the name. Can suggest renaming to insane browser because this is actually insane in a good way. :) What happens if you run it in a TTY ? Does it fail to render anything?

I'd rather learn a language than write with a pen. In my life at least, writing with a pen is now depreceated. Maybe writing left handed would be worth it but I can't think of another good reason to bring it back.

Reading this made me think that a good solution would be to write your own filesystem as a mod if an existing system. It just needs to differ enough from existing recognised systems. Then nobody would be able to read except you and the encr

This is a too big to fail scenario. If these companies fail, so does the US economy. Normal laws for individuals don't apply, so any comparison to that is pointless.

Britain and the US are nothing alike in the sense that in Britain, if you are valuable high earning worker you get actively punished for it with heavy and arguable unjust additional taxes. There are real incentives to working less and retir

I just used an llm to configure bashrc at login to offer a menu to fire it off. Either steam heroic or CLI (logging in as a separate game user) Gamescope replaces X or Wayland so you just run it and then the app you want it to open

I was looking at creating blogs and YouTube content years ago, but I concluded that because of the way algorithms work, good content is actively buried. And where it does find people, the people are trained not to want it. It really is just

I use gamescope on a separate TTY that directly launches either steam or heroic launcher. I find this works exceptionally well. No window manager needed as you are playing a game full screen anyway. It fixed some other things like HDR too b

I know it'll never happen, but it would be great to have a Thunderbird headless version that runs in the tray and handles sending and receiving. I.e. a low memory solution so you can leave it going and only open the client for actual i

This makes me think of MSN,AOL or ICQ which had an online status and notification system. Why did that go away with modern messaging? WhatsApp and signal don't have it. Sms? Not sure. I think Facebook messenger does. I can remember thi

I haven't been able to use worktrees because when there are major conflicts I find the ai can't handle it. Often it ends up dropping a lot of code. How do you manage that? How do you successfully navigate complex merges using ai?
