yeah that can be very difficult. I think you should aim to _season_ the tofu (i.e. salt -- or slight umami with soy sauce), but your primary flavour should still come from a sauce that's on it. I really like sticky sauces that cling to

Tofu being displeasurable is funny to me because it literally has no taste and texture by default. It becomes whatever you put it in or how you cook it. You want crunchy? You got it. Puree? Sure. Sweet? Fine. Salty? Spicy? Tangy? Easy. Peop

It's just interesting because most of the talk is programmers talking about AI taking their job by replacing them not taking their job because it's taking away revenue from the business. Reminds me of the problem with Google &

If someone, without my permission, used my content to create a replacement of me, for me -- however shitty -- I would probably commit a crime against that person. How are people so brazen? Or rude? Or stupid? Or psychopathic?

Seems like the whole thing is just there to sell you on the linked resources. And it feels like AI slop with all the lists.

Why no screws when you specifically called out that there ARE screws on the Time and Duo 2s for the sake of longevity of hardware even if the company goes away? Are you saying there's no access into the watch or that it's more lik

The problem isn't the form factor, it's that it's guaranteed e-waste. Once it runs out of battery, that's it. I think the pebble guy said that it should last a few months with regular usage but like... What a waste of ma

Such a shame we were wrong and made the world a better place for nothing. Sounds awful.

My favorite part about this is how it shows how different people's lives can be even while existing in the same space. I haven't heard of a single thing in this list -- books, music, games, etc.

Honestly, fine. I think some commenters have a point (on both sides). But really y'all should just try talking to yourself if you think you'll like this.

I have a few of these that I use with unifi for non-critical things over ONVIF and there's a reason they are on a separate vlan and not allowed to access the internet... Thankfully they don't die when you block them from phoning h

Y'all are so pessimistic. React Server Components are great. React is a complex piece of software. Bugs happen.

Having figured it out myself, I agree. And it's not obvious that you need both a Usenet _indexer_ (who tells you what content is available) and a Usenet provider (who actually serves you the content). FWIW, and I'm not sure if thi

Why is it that consumers always get shafted here and we just keep going on like "it's just business" Why isn't some consumer protection regulator going "actually no, OpenAI, you can't corner the market for the

Why does every blog nowadays read this way -- quick, witty, sentences "x wasn't the problem, it was the point" (or whatever) and have these section headers that are full thoughts? Or is this just more AI slop?

fwiw I think this is worse than Marko in terms of syntax and certainly in terms of readability. For all its flaws, HTML / XML / like syntax is such a good declarative way of writing UI imo. React would not be as popular as it is t

That's true, sure. My response to that is in React you have JavaScript & JSX and there are clear boundaries. It's not mixed. I don't write <for ...> In JSX I write JavaScript that returns JSX: {data.map(node => &

It looks interesting and in a past life I probably would have tried it out but do you know why I like React? Because it's just JavaScript. This `<let/variable=...>` and `<for ...>` syntax is awful.

That your network stack and your nvr stack was the same thing (and fully local) was a huge selling point for me. If you are only interested in network, you could probably get more customizable/hackable or cheaper (or both) alternatives

I mean it's a case of use the right tool for the job. For consumer, it's overkill. For pro-sumer, it's perfect, imo. You can start pushing the boundaries, here, but most will not for residential. If you are pushing the bounda
