In my opinion, in not using JavaScript they are missing out on a really nice DX. This is the kind of app that could be highly optimized _despite_ using React or something similar. Knee-capping your hiring to Make A Point (tm) is silly.

Maybe I'm just coping, but I personally see this as a feature rather than an issue. Sitting for long periods of time is not healthy. Getting up for 10-15 minutes every two hours is _good_ for my mind and my body.

Yes and no. You only stop for "hours" once / day when you're done driving. It's _convenient_ to charge overnight (and why wouldn't you do it) but it's not necessary. 90% of my charging is done during the d

Definitely agree with you for urban: parks, malls, restaurants -- they'll already have ample parking and be grid-connected. For rural, yeah you gotta make do with what's already there. Gas-stations fit the bill.

You don't install chargers in thru-ways (like a gas-pump) and you don't install gas-pumps on the fringes where you'd normally have parking (like an EV charger). I don't think the land-use argument really holds, here, sin

Depends on the charging density. I drove across Canada and, when I knew the next charger was under 200km away I'd "fill up" for maybe 5 minutes and get on with my journey. Unlike an ICE, you want to keep your car between like

I think this is simply tapping into existing infrastructure. It's not all bad. When I stop to charge, usually I'll find the nearest washroom and use it (why not?). I might grab a snack or something, too. A gas station satisfies bo

As someone who used to own a Model 3, agreed. That is a good size for 99% of people. I wish they'd make a stationwagon concept on the same platform since the only reason I upgraded to the Y was because the trunk format is _just_ not go

That this as a solution applicable to _personal_ computing is a bonus. The real benefit is in datacenters which could be made smaller, more efficient, and cheaper while simultaneously adding capacity.

Don't forget about computer chips that do not emit heat. So much wasted power at the datacenter scale simply to keep things cool. At a personal computer level things get way more efficient, too, resulting in cheaper, smaller, quieter c

NA needs more compact EVs. Smart Car sized (but not a Smart Car :D). I hate how many land-yachts I see in my local grocery store parking lot. You don't need an Escalade or a F150 to go to the mall.

The whole reason (well, the majority of the reason) is that my favorite reddit phone app is going away at the end of the month. This is kind of a deal-breaker for me as bespoke app experiences (i.e. polish) are very important to me.
