Only thing is that you don't ever deal with Tether directly, the exchange needs to have that amount of USD for USDT. Same goes for BTC etc. Later the exchange needs to get USD from Tether if they need liquidity in FIAT?

They do not need to have 100% USD at Tether. Exchanges buy UDST from Tether, that means that there is an exchange. It would be problematic if they would give it for free to the exchanges. The exchanges won't give you free USDT either,

Funny, how is money put into circulation? A big portion is being paid directly from the government to their employees. They need houses, food etc, so they spend it. That gets distributed to all the people from those companies and so on. Thr

I use it in production in PHP. First a pass with Soundex, then Levenshtein. It's used to cleanup certain errors in CSV files, that would otherwise not group on the same header.

Everyone is ragging on Tether but Exchanges do have to exchange them for money and they are not getting Tether for free from Tether I guess. So the 4% backed Tether could not really be true if you think about it. Or am I missing something?

The price of bitcoin will only rise if it's more pricey to mine. Miners will never (or almost never) sell their new bitcoins against a lower price than they invested.

Perhaps this is a good use case for NFT's, added signatures make it easy to find and reward the owner.

With an offline wallet we can just give each other some tokens? The ledger is just to keep track of it. This is why it will be very handy for African countries where no-one has a bank account but they do have cell-phones.

The whole thing has a large "bragging" part to it for now. Public auctions, showing how much you've paid (on the site I saw about NFT's) This is also true in the physical art-world, you display it on your wall, show it o

We can't even begin to imagine all the new tech that will use blockchain (related) tech yet. The money making is just the "nasty" part of it now. A recent development is that of NFT's for example. And the smart contracts

One of the values of bitcoin is the price miners get for it. If they lose money on selling their newly minted bitcoins they won't sell. So it's related to power prices, the difficulty of mining a new coin.

I am scared of hardware wallets as there is nothing to fix if it breaks. I want a backup system that is always recoverable. Any ideas for a good strategy? Duplication on hardware level?
