I've tried a recent LG OLED, and a bunch of other TVs at friends and it happens every time if the laptop has been sleeping previously. If it's a fresh boot it never happens. That leads me to believe it's something on the lapt

I don't think so. In that state, video will jump and stutter wildly, run very fast, and audio will be very broken. It's not just the sound that's affected.

This is not my experience. My M1 Pro MacBook has very strange issues with sound over HDMI. I usually need to reboot it when I connect it to my TV or media won't play if the sound is output over HDMI.

How would you get those numbers into the computer anyway? It seems like this would be a practical system to deal with numbers that can be represented exactly in that way, and numbers you can get at from there.

There isn't that much to know about this tape. It's just a spicy tape, and it's probably not very toxic. "The point" here is the story - the tweets and emails, the thought process. I really liked it, and clearly a l

I use it with an LG TV (WebOS) and while it had some trouble in the past, it now works pretty well. Sometimes I need to disconnect&reconnect to the TV if I paused for too long and/or left my laptop sleep, but mostly just works. The

In the context of React it makes sense, as traditionally it's a client-side rendering thing. Until recently, a redundant render would run in the client once the js is loaded anyway, but I believe it's possible to skip that now.

I think that's the case. IIRC The British Library has copies of all published material in the UK, including flyers and such. What seems banal and useless to you, might be extremely important for future historians, and to be honest, boo

Agreed. There's people on HN complaining about APIs like Web USB, but I never got why. You can ship a firmware flasher as a single .html file now! No sketchy native tools or messing around with the command line, and runs on pretty much

There's some interesting research on using stacked flat lenses to build analog, physical neural network inference that operate directly on light (each lens is a hidden layer). If we managed to make this work for non-trivial cases, it c

At least for android apps, it's best to first rate 5 stars, then the lower score in Play store, as those pop-ups usually only redirect to play store for high ratings, to inflate their rank.
