The only solution I see is the FTC stepping in. I don't understand why they're sitting on their hands. What Microsoft did in the 90s was pale by comparison—they just bundled some extra software. By contrast Apple today is locking

That's very common for projects like this. ScummVM is another example. If you don't require the original files to run, you're essentially redistributing a commercial game for free, which even for older titles is generally not

I had a Discord account created in 2015 that I had always used with their Android app. Then one day I logged in with Firefox and boom, suddenly and permanently banned. I'm not sure what the lesson is here... maybe avoid uBlock and subm

Has ddevault ever commented on how much build minutes will cost out of alpha? From their pricing page it seems like a fixed monthly cost for unlimited minutes, which doesn't seem sustainable to me.

I'd love to see a smaller version too! The GPS-tracking-bracelet aesthetic isn't really for me, but I'm still intrigued by the idea. The key components are a compass and motors, and since 2009 those have been dramatically min

That's still not a debt. If the cashier rings it up, and you try to pay with credit card and your card is declined, you can leave without buying anything. Whereas with a debt, you couldn't just change your mind like that.

And some wallets do this automatically. But if you send a transaction and the change flows directly from your previous wallet to your next wallet, you're not accomplishing much.

I used to use Dark Sky, which was perfect! It had an auto updating widget with a precipitation graph for the week. Then Apple bought it and shut the API down for non-iOS devices, so I found myself in a similar predicament. Like you, I was t

WSB has been pretty useless since GameStop happened (imho). It's just memes these days, no real trading talk. I'm sure the actual traders all packed up and moved somewhere, but wherever it is, I sure wasn't invited.

Rust was still changing quite a lot in 2013. It sounds like you used it back when it had a garbage collector, baked-in green threads, and "~" and "@" sigils everywhere. Rust 1.0 may as well be a completely different lang
