A lot of people into vegetable juicing talk about biophotons and I always figured it was a bit of quackery. Still makes you wonder if your carrot on the counter still has any? The juicers will say that it does but if you cook the carrot it

No doubt I could enjoy a better life somewhere in the world. But I dont expect that country to let me move there and give me their opportunities.

Id much prefer the companies pay $150k so that it entices someone to move from Nevada to California.

Yes, just what we need, retired people with a whole career of making income behind themselves taking another decent entry level job someone one just out of college can get. (No teaching credential needed for substitute teachers usually)

Every industry has its bad employers and good. I know teachers that make $50k and no pension, with others making $93k, halfways to their pension at 35yrs old, get almost 12 weeks off total a year, and work from 8am to 3pm (1 hour lunch, 1 h

You can downvote all you want but I've seen it and confirmed it by asking why they don't double click the menu bar. They didn't know it was a thing.

I float around the VC world in SF. Several of the women that work for VCs in decent positions don't know how to maximize a window on the MacBooks.

Most of it is your tax dollars. I have two friends who aren't officially with the mother of their kids in any way on paper so that they get as many benefits for single mothers as possible.

I'm in the SF Bay Area. I spend a lot of time outside. I haven't worn sunscreen since I was a child. 40 yrs old now. Gfs and strangers comment about how good my skin is. No products ever, no sun screen is all I can say. Obviously

During COVID lockdowns I got on a plane to San Diego and bought a 2013 Volt with 100k miles for $5500. It had warranty until 2023 and 150k miles (I didn't use it though). I have spent Zero dollars on repairs and I'm up to 207k mi

Yup, but getting people to try it involve so much effort you only really do it for people you care about. It's amazing how resistant people are to eating only meat for a month or two, but drinking alcohol is no problem. Chemical prese

My point was that for everyone I've seen try it, meat only has been a cure-all. If that's just because it gets to stop eating all the chemical preservatives, or the adding sugars, or the seed oils, or if it's because a tomat

I can't argue if it's 'healthy' or not, but anecdotal accounts say that going meat only cures most of these pains in about 30 days. I've tried it. 65 year old dad tried it. Coworkers and friends. It worked for ever

The quality of studies seems so poor it almost seems like the people conducting them don't even care about their quality, but wherever gets funding and keeps the bosses happy. Basically the car salespeople of academia.

Almost every company on earth has this. I worked in car sales where I was making 5x some people, working the same hours. Yet there was a superstar making 50% more than ME (so 7-8x some other salespeople) and worked less hours, AND took Sund

As a self taught PHP/jQuery guy with an existing saas that pays the bills, it somewhat took the motivation out of my second project. Alone I'm just good enough to do things well enough and secure enough when I really try. It wasn&

I've gone down the Sonora grade in a Silverado with 22 year old brake fluid. I wasn't towing, but it was very hot out and in general yes the brakes were hot when I checked at around 4000 feet. I wonder if some YouTuber has done so

Why would we want that? Because the food is substantially better quality and healthier. And the time? We do this in our spare time outside of full time jobs. But you're right, it does cut into our Netflix, tv, YouTube, Facebook time.

We do make our own beef and our own corn. But beyond that, even at my house we make our own lemons (2 trees), tomatoes (60 plants), grapefruits (6 trees), and then process and freeze enough to last as long as possible. Because the stuff yo

Of course, if a poorer country is sending their money to a richer country for things they can make at home or get from somewhere else, they would be pretty dumb.
