It took me somewhere around 10 tries until I baked my first perfect bread. My overall advice would be to knead really well, unless you're doing a no-knead bread. As to your question about proofing, be gentle, let it rest in a warm spot

It may be wise to pick ones battles, but it certainly is braver to pick one knowing you will lose. Stupid, but brave.

My guess is that US intelligence has several "shadow" arms that have morphed into their own creatures and are no longer the same patriotic beast it was during the cold war. I'm doubtful whether destabilizing China is a real p

More like a decade of failures really, resulting mostly from hard addiction to drugs and drinking that led to a failed suicide attempt in 2017. Still recovering from it. Initially there was hatred and resentment towards people who "sav

Overtly? Unfortunately, most people don't care about the "plenty bad shit" going on in China as long as their cheap imports are flowing in. In a Cold War 2.0 scenario, it is absolutely necessary that China be made out to be n

It may sound like a conspiracy theory to you, but it looks to be a case of healthy paranoia to me. Brave seems to me all kinds of shady. My browser should have nothing to do with tokens, crypto, paying content producers etc. All of that le

Requiring IDs is not the exception these days. Also, limiting government power through policy seems unpopular because it doesn't work.

Definitely not. One of the things that makes existence tolerable for many of us is the assurance that it is ending quite soon. Although I can see why people would choose to stick around for much longer. I suppose one legitimate reason to li

I think of tiling WM in terms of never having to leave my keyboard, or in other words, never having to make use of the mouse/touchpads. That itself leads to a vast boost in productivity. I haven't used macOS in a while, but when I

I don't have kids but find it absurd that parents who post photos of their kids online, be it them crying or smiling, don't put a single thought into the issue surrounding consent. Instagram photos aren't the same as my dad p

Naipaul is my favorite writer. A House for Mr. Biswas is a book I keep coming back to every year or so. It's deep, humorous and very melancholic. Miguel Street is the funniest book I've read. Naipaul is great!
