Should employees get their salaries adjusted by inflation once per year? Why yearly, not monthly? Also what if there is deflation, do people get pay cuts? A lot of these issues are very easy to criticize on the surface, I don't think

What are these humane models? My understanding is that there are a lot of very similar economic systems. There are pros and cons to each of these systems. I don't believe one system or government as truly figured it out. Folks on HN

Isn't that just entropy? Nothing can stay forever. I'd be interesting to see over long periods of time and many people who leave first, the employee quitting or employer firing/laying-off. My anecdotes tell me more people le

You have to be very careful with Uber schedules. They do NOT guarantee a pickup time like a normal private car. There are many stories stating that the driver never shows up, or shows up 15 minutes early and leaves charging you with a no-s

This is also a great point. Teams should have detailed knowledge of the performance of the company or groups. It helps with the shared ownership, pride and responsibilities.

A very important distinction, in my "Creo" example above, our company specifically used the word "leadership" for the founders and other "leads" of the company. Nobody used the word manager or boss annd anyone

I also worked at a company that was similar to the Creo story above. This was a High Frequency Market making company, total employees ~ 250. "Flat" management, nobody had titles, just responsibilities. Everyone understood the m

In my history the best sales people I've met wouldn't have me believe they were in sales at all. They are just great at relationships and solving problems for clients. You want to give them your money to solve your problem.

When the president uses the power of the executive branch to enforce an ideology you agree with = democracy. When you disagree with the ideology = king. How does that make sense?

Not for imposing will on the people, that is for elected officials. I trust credentialed people for providing facts and research in their domain, not writing policies.
