Illegal to ban users? So a neo-nazi account spams, harasses, doxxes hundreds of users and spreads gore all over your platform, and you aren't allowed to shut them down unless you go through the court system first? This is one of the

Unfortunately, Apple uses Thunderbolt, and they're the only ones who do 5k/6k. We absolutely have the bandwidth for 5k120 over DisplayPort, but Apple insists on sticking to Thunderbolt.

They were obviously joking talking about light speed, but I strongly disagree. Even ignoring how it improves the feel of typing, I'm a mouse-using heretic and it makes a huge difference with mice.

The new Studio Display is the same panel as the UltraFine but ever-so-slightly brighter, and with a better shell.

While I'm not an Emacs person, I do agree with you to an extent. Make no mistake, I'm no unix evangelist; I like Plan 9, especially its rejection of unix's horrendous TUIs. I used shell scripts because I was already very fami

I think shell scripts and plaintext (maybe markdown) files is the way to do it if you're on a unix-y OS. I already have a system similar to the article but not as advanced/developed.

The first amendment is popular. True free speech absolutism isn't quite so popular. The average person would agree that slander and libel are bad, for instance.

Exactly. If Twitter bans you, you're free to make your own Twitter or other speech platform. That is, the internet itself, not the private sites on it, is the public square. If what you have to say is so revolutionary, surely people

On Twitter, little guys with benign accounts will get randomly suspended over essentially nothing. And yet, you can get spammed by people constantly creating new/alt accounts calling you the N word in your replies and Twitter does jack

Immediate mode is generally used for quick and dirty developer tools. It's rarely used for user-facing UI. You're free to waste your time carefully architecting an MVC application any time you want a few text boxes and sliders to

Immediate mode GUIs can be used for almost anything that retained mode GUI toolkits (GTK, Qt) can be used for. It removes a lot of the overhead and boilerplate to speed up development.

I don't know, maybe the military could spare 0.1% of its hundreds of billions. Why do taxes become a problem when someone proposes using them for something practical that benefits society, rather than making Boeing richer?
