Can anyone cite Muslim economists or theorista who endorse Erdogan's scheme? A vague "we don't do interest because Islam bans usury" hardly sounds like good policy. What is the Islamic alternative to the current macroeco

lol this is so patently false. in a family very close to me, the husband would very much like his wife to wear not hijab and his wife tells him to mind his own business. both are muslim.

It's a different axis. The Turks are fighting the Sauds for influence in the Islamic world, while the Sauds are fighting the Iranians in their imagined Shia vs Sunni conflict.

With FireFox becoming more and more unusable, does anybody with experience know if Vivaldi or Brave are objectively better (or faster or more stable)?

Would you hire senior engineers who don't have much experience directly with your stack but are interested in jumping ship?

If I can afford to pay for the better experience and I want it badly enough, I will. That's how markets work.

Sure, there's lots of people on the far right saying things like "Muslims are terrorists who are trying to invade us" or "globalism is a plot by the international jewry to do so-and-so".

You have to be careful with that sort of thing, especially when you're new and don't have the vibe of the place... I think you did the right thing by not saying anything at first. I'm glad you were able to get out early thoug

The subcontinent is one of the first places that will be hit by climate change. That's 1.5-2 billion people that will need relocating. Where are we going to put them? Bangladesh alone is like 200 million.

I want a good consumer AR headset. VR gives me a headache and I really think AR will be more fun / integrated with our lives. It's sad that MSFT made the HoloLens enterprise only, otherwise I'd be next in line for that.

How is that possible, I get FF crashes literally every time I load a moderately intensive website (eg. Google Keep). I still use FF because I can't abide Chrome. My PC is admittedly a bit older (only 6 gigs RAM) but still.

I feel you. I was about to sell my car right as the pandemic started but now I'm glad I didn't. Uber/Lyft quickly went out of the range of using for ordinary everyday things post-pandemic.

Just curious but why? I use FF regular on mobile, mostly for the ublock, but I wonder if I'd be better off with Focus.

Americans don't think twice about their taxes being used to pay for bombs that kill all sorts of brown people. Maybe we should ethnically cleanse Americans as well?

It's not just random birds it's random animals in ecosystems (esp in N America) not designed for predators like cats. I strongly recommend this book for a deeper understanding: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CO3
