The strings attached by the US to deep partnerships are things like trade/commerce, militarily mutual advantages (bases on euro soil from which we will help protect you), not to mention the close cultural and ancestral ties we share. T

Um, dismissing the tech as "the local LLMs are dumb" seems shortsighted. I can run some pretty impressive models on my local Mac, but it has >64gb of ram and an M3 Max. Given the privacy benefit I wouldn't dismiss them so

To some degree, it comes from the same reason high speed rail doesn't work here in the US while it's a pleasure in Europe. The vast majority of places in this country are truly out in the sticks, and defending yourself from wildl

This doesn't make sense. Wall plugs (like circuit breakers) are designed for a particular max amperage draw. If I have a 10A 120V circuit and wall plug, I can't charge my car at 8A? I have wall ovens that connect via a 50A circu

You know of lots of LLM-using apps that don't need to re-run their fine tunings or embeddings because of improvements or new features at least annually? Things are moving so fast that "every 12 months" seems kinda slow...
