I've never needed to reinstall an OS. Current is macOS (2 years), and before that I used Xubuntu (for 2 years) and Windows 10 (started using it when it was Insider only). I don't remember needing to reinstall Windows 7 either.

You can still create a FAQ. Discord is a great way to know what are the frequently asked questions.

I wonder if we could use some kind of federation (ActivityPub?) to build an aggregate of the search indexes of a curated community. Something like a giant federated whitelist of domains to index.

I honestly don't know. On one hand I'd love for a standard used by everyone, but on the other hand I fear it'll limit innovation. What if Apple want to sell a full wireless phone with MagSafe only for instance? What if someon

Note that in the case of domain names Google is not all powerful. The ICANN and the ccTLD registries are. If Google threatens you and your domain and doesn't let you appeal, you can (and should!) contact both the registry directly and

Can you instead push for giving your *customers* the ability to actually contact you in case of a problem? It's shameful that the only way to contact one of the biggest megacorp is being noticed by an employee on Hacker News. FWIW, in

This is incredibly common. Why would you develop anything and then not provide screenshots? Even for CLIs screenshots are useful! What's the first thing you see on Apple's Big Sur landing page[1]? A big fat screenshot! What about

I agree, but the correct way to do that is what the Play Store does: display what the user asked for first and unambiguously, and AFTER, display some ads, clearly flagged as "Ads: other content that might interest you". Apple does
