Not true, there is an exception for income under 80k/year. Over that person can operate via LLC with dividends etc. Most people renounce because it is difficult and frustrating to deal with US tax system.

I wrote "barely profitable", it makes a few dolars a year. If company has no money, it can not pay for anything. And it is outside USA, what IRS thinks is irrelevant. Some more paranoid people even start new company every year.

Companies who exploit illegal workers usually do not maintain basic safety. At peak of corona lockdown last year my friends had their passports confiscated by employer, had to pay overpriced accommodation and could not leave for lockdown.
