Doesn't always work this way but: Smaller Monitor: Comms (email, calendar, slack, etc) -- often times I have this vertical (top email/cal and slack below) and it doubles for viewing dashboards for stats during troubleshooting. Big

It worked surprisingly well (as did some of the other BBS message networks of the time). Sure it took a bit for messages to traverse the network, however most of that was to try to reduce on cost per minute long distance.

Thats surprising, GSO always had me sign for my shipments and required ID. If I wasn't home or no one over 21 was then I'd have to pick it up at the distro center.

A 20$ RTL-SDR will give you a very broad view of the spectrum and an idea of how one area can be quiet, the other filled with signals and the oddities of atmospheric noise, etc. Super fun and there are 100,000 YouTube videos on how to get i

I'm reminded of this in the very early days on my blazing fast 486... where you would go to build the kernel and walk away for two days waiting for the next compile failure.

The real question is how many of these did you use or have exposure to during the time... I lost count after a while, but I also switched platforms all the time back in my youth ;)

I once used port 53 for all my communications at a hotel that was charing metering bandwidth by the gb... it was a magical weekend of DNS passthrough with video calls, etc. 53 is my go to port when the network is wonky.
