Isn't this just reinventing ODBC? Back in the day you could whip together an app like this using Borland's dev tools in literally a matter of minutes, and it worked with any data source configured on your system. And I think there's a YouTu

The death of the Zune brand was announced ages ago. "Zune" has been nothing more than the punchline to a joke for years now. And the failure of the Live brand is, well, not unexpected. It caps off a decade of weird and unfocused branding

HiDPI mode is already here. You can enable it today if your monitor is sufficiently large, and see these large images in action for yourself. There's no need to go digging around app package resources and speculate about what's coming.

Obj-C is essentially a preprocessor on top of a C compiler. Whether that C compiler is C89, C99, or C++11 is up to you. Obj-C also includes the Foundation classes that were originally introduced with the OpenStep SDK in 1994 (NSObject, NSS

Yes, iOS and OS X are basically a single OS. Only they support different hardware platforms, run completely different apps, provide completely different SDKs, have completely different UI guidelines, and serve completely different use case

It looks about right to me. It's warning the user of untrusted software from an anonymous source, and its message should be strongly worded. If you don't want your users to see that message, make sure your stuff is signed.

It reminds me of Slashdot circa 1998/99, back when we watched those guys grow their then-new-found popularity out of a dorm-room Linux box; at a time when the web was a mere fraction of the size it is today. Godspeed, reddit. You're on the
