This is the often given answer, but is wrong. The company, the mountain, and many other things are named after a Hindu god of food and nourishment. Don’t just mimic the first search result (check its etymology section, instead).

Spoiler alert: the common knowledge “cartel” actually made a rational choice which balanced longevity, light quality, efficiency, and cost. The longer lasting lightbulbs were worse at everything except lasting longer. This was not malicious

A random tip for the thread: when looking for glass or other small objects, shine a bright flashlight parallel to the floor: all detritus is made visible by casting longer, harder shadows.

I use a MicroOS + wayland + sway and friends setup, since I don’t like big DEs. I completely agree with you about needing a firewall, but it was an easy fix to continue taking advantage of all the good parts: sudo transactional-update
