I would prefer to-do lists in google calendar instead. Google calendar is available via the iCal standard, and it can handle to-do lists as well.

Nice to have preview of music and film, but I have to admit that i prefer zoomii.com for windowshopping books. Zoomii got more books and a gives a better overview. Besides, zoomii gives you the feeling of beeing in a physical bookstore.

What an insanely great idea! Saves hours of brainstorming for startups who normally would spend hours brainstorming to come up with all variants of a noun or verb for a domain name and doing dns lookups. I tried 'guitars' and it instantly r

Go for Ruby. JRuby is actually faster than Ruby, and will improve in future versions of jvm. Calling java classes from jruby is simpler than calling Java from Java. If you're using Eclipse as IDE, I suggest you try out the DLTK Ruby plugin

I prefer jQuery. It's the fastest growing javascript library. It's the newest javascript library on the list. It runs fast, and most importantly; it has a very simple and readable syntax.

Java has become a system language like C. It runs everywhere, on everything, but DHH has a point when he says it's not relevant. Java will proabably be better known as the underlying runtime system for (J)Ruby in a few years time. ;-)

It's really great to be able to read the source code of a digg clone, to see how the rating algorithms work, instead of reverse engineering it yourself. Normally I prefer writing my own ruby or java code, than modify some elses php hacks^^H
