I've been using high-ish DPI in Windows for a few months now ("Windows XP style"), and I pretty much never encountry any problems. Only apps I've encountered that don't scale are some Java apps.

Could you be more specific about the things Lyx does worse than Word? For me, most of its WYSIWYM-features work pretty well. For what it's worth, the most annoying thing for me have been the tables, which overflow in awkward ways.

Based on the fact that this database is free and public domain, apparently it's possible for such data to have a restrictive license. So, I'm wonder what the sources of this data are? Is it compiled from public resources from the government
