It looked fake to me immediately. Maybe just uncanny valley since the movements are not very human-like — I'm not sure. But the lighting on the machines looks all wrong to me (although the shadows do look accurate, and the audio also s

As co-founder and CTO of my firm, I agree with many of the other responses: internal would be best, by far, assuming you like the existing team and have solid relationships therein. With that said, shameless plug: if you are a senior-level

I agree the restore is lacking compared to Time Machine. But I have a ~fully automated dev machine setup process, so it's not as big a pain for me. However, having been able to find files I deleted but ended up needing has saved my ass

I, for one, am happy to pay a bit more to keep supporting Backblaze. More than worth the $7/mo to sleep better at night, and the service has worked flawlessly for me.

I didn't say it was safe — I said it was safer than ethanol. With that said, I appreciate your comment. I didn't know all of this specifically.

Not sure why you're being downvoted. Both are extremely safe compared to ethanol — in terms of both self-harm and harm inflicted upon others.

To set the record straight: I'm not even an "adherent" per-se, just a tech nerd who follows things closely. My point is that it's arrogant to claim to know the outcome of this grand experiment already. So many folks on b

I'm eager to see what ETH's transition to proof-of-stake does for its appeal and adoption. Environmental concerns seem to be one of Bitcoin's biggest problems of late (among many).

Exactly. The concept of money is a shared belief ("fiction") that we all basically agree on. Bitcoin and crypto in general are shaking the foundations of these beliefs. I'm not even taking sides, just acknowledging that the c

From a humanitarian perspective, when I think about how many unfortunate people half a billion dollars could help, I don't see a win anywhere in here. From an environmental standpoint, it's also a massively wasteful use of materia

The way I think about the waste: for nuclear, the waste can be reliably (and safely) contained in a very small area, far from civilization and habitats, where it can't cause much of a problem. When we burn hydrocarbons, they pollute th
