I suppose it doesn't matter what product you have as long as you know how to market it and most importantly, solve a problem. What problem does app.net solve? Honest question, because it surely doesn't solve the problem of walled gardens.

Little hint for the next time.. "bog" is british slang for "toilet". At first I read "blog", then "toilet", and by the time I got to the article I was already in quite the silly mood, which is inappropriate for science.

Why, I thank you! But I will also have you know that "Sorry." is a sentence fragment. When correcting others, you should always try to correct them rightly, not wrongly, even if it may sound odd sometimes. (tee-hee :)

Some things are only really useful as protocols. We don't pay for the email or http protocol either. We pay for the hosting, not for the ability to interact with others - we pay for the actual resources, not proprietary ideas. At least th

One thing I just don't understand, is how "show any page" is a better than "show random page". Other than that I love it.

that's funny, I'm the other way around.. whenever I see syntactic sugar implemented via javascript, I unroll it in my head and consider it overhead, compared to sending a bunch of more bytes down the wire which hardly matter after gzip.

It also makes pages with a billion wrapper divs look much thicker! Therefore I use it to get an impression of the weight/awkwardness of the DOM of a page.

How do good defaults and options exclude each other? Also, we're talking about creativity here: you cannot be very creative without a toolbox and some options. And frankly, I think you're grossly underestimating "real people" (and good us
