I got <ruby> simply because I kept seeing it in the list of tags back in the days when I used W3Schools, this useless knowledge stuck with me until today. Same for <bdi> and <kbd>. No idea what they do.

I don't know if it's the root problem, but it's the first and biggest problem. I earn a comfortable salary in France and although I think I would like to get one (the movie watching experience looks really cool), there's

Honestly I find LLMs to be a great tool, when using them right, and with the sufficient skills to know when they’re wrong. And for some problems, you don’t need a 100% right answer. Earlier today I asked ChatGPT to give me a Go script to pa

A cop told you to drive above the speed limit? I seriously doubt that. If that’s true, it’s a trap.

Yes wow, because it’s not the norm. Before I switched to an iPhone, I needed to change my Android phone every 2 years or so (sometimes less) because they became completely unusable, from hardware issues (broken connectors) to software issue

Came here to say this, it's one of the first things I configure when I install iTerm. Being able to naturally use cmd+arrows, opt+arrows, cmd+del or opt+del is invaluable to me. I don't want text editing in my terminal to be speci

That just seems overly cautious. I’d rather use UUIDv7 unless I have a reason not to. The convenience of sortable ids and increased index locality are very much worth the security issues associated with UUIDv7. Maybe I wouldn’t use UUIDv7 f

No, I don’t. Even with a timestamp uuids are not enumerable, and honestly I don’t care that the timestamp they were created at is public. Is the version of uuid used being a part of the uuid considered a leak too?

I don’t understand how that’s an issue. Do you have an example of a possible attack using UUIDv7 timestamp? Is there evidence of this being a real security flaw?

Lua is not perfect either. Having a specific keyword to make variables local was a mistake. Variables should be local by default. Oh, and 1-indexed arrays are annoying.

I highly recommend awk because you can learn it in 20 minutes [1] So you can start by spending 20 minutes to learn awk, and then spend 20 years to learn Perl (and use awk in the mean time) [1]: https://ferd.ca/awk-in-20-minu

Honestly there’s 2 situations: - if the tool is updated continuously for 15 years it’ll still be up - if it’s not updated, it will be technically irrelevant anyway and you’ll have switched to another tool by then Future support is overrated
