The company computer typically comes with some data protection agreement, where you agree to only access confidential data via the company computer, or at least to never copy confidential company data to personal devices.

Another big benefit of local AI is control and increased predictability, e.g. in costs or behavior. We will appreciate it even more when popular agents become more costly or start including more ads.

Article about Qwen was at sixth place when I loaded the page, followed by gpt-5.6 sol. I guess this is still an improvement, today’s front page often contains multiple AI adjacent submissions in the top ten.

Cherry picked usage stats are off topic. The fact that 90% of Fortune 500 companies rely on COBOL[1] doesn’t make other languages a niche. [1]: https://www.rocketsoftware.com/en-us/insights/what-is-cobol

We’ve already lived through multiple floods of unmaintainable code, eg with unstructured JQuery. New tech stacks will appear and they will handle the mess to some extent.

Is anyone using open weight models for agentic coding? What is your stack (harness, model) and how much do you pay per month? How would you compare your experience to a typical subsidized plan like Claude Code + Pro plan? I’m asking because

What if you crap so much and your craps are so pervasive that you cannot find anyone else’s crap but yours - unprocessed, or with very little processing.

I’m rooting for open models. Current state of frontier AI is a joke, with proprietary platforms attempting to grab as many users as possible, subsidizing tokens and otherwise burning VC money. This can’t be good long term, not for the consu

What plan are you on? With Anthropic I run out of quota very fast on a Pro plan with long contexts. Is long context primarily for Max tier or for API usage? Or are there special ways of working with long context on a Pro plan?
