I've never understood the gravity of Teflon pans. I can never seem to keep them non-stick, whether it be because of using too high of heat or somehow scratch the damn thing. So, I got cast irons. It's trivial to keep them seasoned

S3 SLA is actually for only three nines (99.9%) or 8.76 hours / year or 43.8 minutes / month of downtime: https://aws.amazon.com/s3/sla/ CloudFront offers the same availability. Many CDNs offer no more t

Not sure it reimplements scrolling; it just looks like there are CSS styles applied to browsers supporting ::webkit-scrollbar-* selectors and coloring/thinning the scrollbar.

I was only arguing on bandwidth, so I think we agree there. As for latency, Twitch -- the current de-facto -- already has multiple seconds of latency added on top of the encoder and decoder delays. Being aggressively realtime and uber inter

Top streamers are going to have two PCs / dedicated capture-hardware and beefier i7 equivalents. Most [PC] games are GPU bound and don't require much more than an i5.

It's unlikely an FPS needs high bandwidth -- typically less than the lowest-quality, 2005-age YouTube-video. Even with a high-tick game, you're looking at topping out at around 35KB. Yes there are going to be gamers in countries w

You might "just" migrate some slower parts to numpy or write a C target and interface with it over Python's CFFI.

I can't say what you saw, but there is no hamburger button and just a printer button now. Regardless, it seems odd one would look for a print button on a page itself and not just print with the browser's print options.

I really appreciate what Chrome did. People got clever and would move their player (or triggers) in front of your regular clicks to get their annoyance to play. They can't do that with right-click and a left-click in a context menu. At

I think it's more than that other message queues are "another piece of infrastructure." In fact, many other message queues are several pieces of software, and while I can appreciate the modular-nature / separation of con

There are plenty of alternatives to every library having to have yet another probably broken security layer. Probably better to focus on this layer being separate from everyone having to implement it. Like, stunnel: https://www.s

You might try better co-workers? Seems odd you'll spend as much time as you will with your partner (and kids) as with co-workers and not develop a meaningful or similar relationships. Sounds horrible.

Even if FLAC was required for "high-fidelity" -- it's not -- a 20mb track and assuming the track is at a super short length of 60 seconds is going at ~341kbps. YouTube is already pumping bits faster than that at 360p [0], so

S3 is an AWS product: http://aws.amazon.com/s3/ johansch is trying to paint AWS -- the culmination of its products (EC2, S3, "xyz", etc) -- as something that is down for day(s) a year. We don't (have to)

PHP performance is/was not a reason to not use it, if there was ever a reason you'd be "insane" to do so. Pinterest runs on a "slower" Python/Django stack, for that matter.
