It's amazing how far things have come. I remember when there were only maybe 5 student hackathons happening every year. Now there are like 150 and they're happening all over the world. /me wishes was still student sometimes

The big goal of this MLH season was to encourage new hackers to join the existing community. Specifically, attendance points encourage hackers to travel to other universities / hackathons that they might not normally go to and to finis

What's really incredible is that Maryland didn't get attendance points for just showing up. They got the points for completing hacks. So over the last 6 weeks, 160 hackers completed hacks at the official MLH events.

We'll see :) Remember, Rutgers hackers only earn 1 attendance point for hacking at HackRU since it's at their home school, but other schools will get 2 points. Every hack is gonna count.

Great read. I strongly believe that a very high-touch approach to customer support and development is the way to go. It's very humbling to look at your software from the consumer's prospective. More like this plz!
