Let me introduce you to the wonderful game that is The Talos Principle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Talos_Principle It discusses whether it is possible to evolve AGi using... computer game engine! And that is Joh

John Carmack pointed out (and I learned it here at HN) that what training really needs is the *sign" of each individual gradient parameter. I.e., you can quantize gradient to -1, 0 and 1 and still have neural network learn much of the

Can transformers prove absence of the solution? E.g., did they tried to train them on the unsolvable problems? I once tried my hands on the PCB routing and here's a simple problem of simultaneous multipath search that is unsolvable:

I do not understand why your solution skips to the next unique elements. Consider sequence [1,1,1,1,1,1]. We should count there 3 (three) (1,1) pairs. Karpathy's (and mine's) algorithm would count 5 pairs, yours' will count 1

Please, do add the "two random choices" to the list. It is a noticeable omission, let me explain why. Here are some comparisons of 2-random-choices with LRU in context of CPU caches: https://danluu.com/2choices-evi

I provided a link, you can read more about differences there. LRU suffers from linear access pattern, where it cannot degrade gracefully. Try to cache N+1 items in N-item LRU when items are accessed linearly or at random with removal. The &
