This resonates with me. I'm also around the same age and have the same amount of experience. I love AI and use it for both personal and work tasks for two reasons: 1. It's a way to bounce around ideas without (as much) bias as a h

I like Podman with it's API for hosting (no k8s) but I reverted back to Docker for local because of docker-compose incompatibilities. This was a year or more ago so it may not still be an issue.

I've been following Dark since its inception and found the idea inspiring. I'm happy about today's announcements and look forward to seeing what comes next. On a personal note, I'm curious around the move to F# as the im

I use the Windsurf Cascade plugin in JetBrains IDEs. My current flow is I rough-in the outline of what I want and have generally use the plugin to improve what I have by creating tests, performance improvements, or just making things more i

Great post. I've been a fan of NIN for over 30 years and no other band has had such a profound impact on my life. This is saying a lot because I've always been heavily into almost all genres. My biased opinion is that there's

I just want to say this blog is one of the best engineering/product blogs out there. I’ve been an avid reader for a while and always learn something. Very inspirational.

I literally just wrote something similar called techdocs[1] in Rust and uses Claude to generate a README. It includes API and CLI. [1] https://github.com/thesurlydev/techdocs

Couldn't tell you. The fact that JetBrains decided to make it a paid add-on beyond the normal IDE subscription cost turned me off. I wonder if AI assistant will be deprecated once Junie is GA. Anyone know?

Every once in a while I'll try LibreOffice out but I can never get past the UI. I've also never seen it in use at a company which begs the question: who is using it?

Taking a quick look around on their website it seems you can have them host for you or self-host but absolutely requires k8s. If I'm wrong, point me to the doc that shows you how to self-host without k8s and I'll officially be exc

Yes. Absolutely. But with one caveat: JetBrains is clearly lagging behind in AI features and none of the 30+ LLM plugins come close to the killer feature of Codeium's Windsurf (Cascade). For this reason, I've been using both Winds

Shout out to atuin [1] which helps a lot with the "remembering syntax" problem especially if you're using several different commands over and over. [1] https://atuin.sh/

As I read through these comments I'm reminded of recon techniques commonly used in bug bounties. Reverse proxies, decompiling APKs, parsing JS files to find endpoints, etc. I often went down rabbit holes in the recon phase and never fo
