I salivate at the potential of seeing the industry turned on it's head and these tools being leaked. I know there are great firms out there, but a lot are snake oil nonsense.

I think you are referencing two different things. Expecting vegitarian meals to be the default wont happen for a long time. People like meat for a lot of reasons. However, lots of wonderful resturants and chefs are creating vegitarian and

Do we somehow fail the dumb accountant or 80 year gma with cars because they can't just get in and drive without learning how to drive?

I don't think they would be publishing this if they didn't think that the tools will stay secret. They are getting ahead of it.

It depends on how it happened, too. If it was a nation state deal and no more details come forth, I vote no. If this is a finphisher type hack and they get humiliated and db/source dumped, then yes.

I hope so. Between the cia, russia, nsa, and other private company dumps, it's been a fun time to be in the industry. I can't find these yet anywhere.

The sales world you are looking for is a "panel", think something that goes on the wall at a convention center, or as a menu. They very muxh exist, and the stats are no B.S>

Great point. It shouldn't really matter much if some formerlly gray-market figures get rich as long as things go toward a better model.

Yesh, I'm so tired of the idea that AWS doesn't involve the same management overhead as any other server. It's so far removed from the truth that I wonder if they are shills.

I agree with you. As counterpoint, I was embarassed for our profession when something like 70% of people in the industry said they were confused with the syntax for httpd.conf

I agree with you, but I can't find a good way to communicate this to the other camp. I wonder if you can't clearly see this without having been a "sysadmin" long before "devops" was a title.

A lot of businesses aren't growing at breakneck speeds, and with modern cpu/ram setups, are often massively underprovisioned. A very big car rental company you'd know the name of was being run on four servers, and they were

I think you can alleviate a lot of your anxiety (as far as you can without hacking the anxiety itself with, say, cbt) by being in tune with your body and not ignoring potential early symptoms of conditions that leave these lasting effects.
