It seemed quite broken on WP8 too, looked pretty much the same and it didn't seem to want to load another image after the initial load (though this may have been a connectivity problem)

Can you send ctrl+alt+del through the kvm? if so, maybe this will cause it to restart so you can access the bootloader

Are you able to restart the box? If you have KVM access, you could restart it into single user mode (assuming it has not been disabled) and work from there

Nobody ever seems to show off the '-w' flag for OpenSSH in these articles. It creates a virtual network interface and allows for "real" tunneling, which is pretty cool.
