It doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. If they're investigating her to mount a smear campaign, getting out in front of it sounds like a good idea. But I'm not a lawyer, so what do I know?

I'm pretty sure he meant a probe. Not a good idea to send a bunch of people to a planet we don't know is habitable (and probably isn't).

What is the timeline you're putting to this? If it's 500 years, sure, speculate away; but if you think these things are going to materialize in the near future then I think you're crazy. ML is not to the point where we can h

Yes, they are different, but from an economic perspective they're very similar, which is what the OP was talking about.

Well that shouldn't be true. Firstly there is no good reason why any PHP framework would ever require a specific web server, so the claim seems dubious. A little reading in their installation guide confirms Grav should work with any

I think it's a side effect of having a punishing language. Coding Rust is always described as fighting with the compiler, I don't think Rust would have ever taken off if there weren't great tools to fight the compiler with.

I think persuasion pieces have become somewhat synonymous with "advertising" due to the rise in popularity of sponsored content. With everyone trying to sell you something, it's hard not to become jaded.

This is a must read if you're interested in non-standard Linux networking: http://lartc.org/lartc.html Look for "Split access", it's pretty similar to what you're talking about. Basically you'

That isn't a reason to go back to only passing strings between processes, that's like saying "I can't assign this string to an integer so all strongly typed languages are stupid."

I agree with you. Touching the brakes should not completely disable autopilot. The aviation industry has a term for this sort of error, a Mode Error. If it is unclear what mode the vehicle is in (semi-autonomous mode, or full manual mode

I think it's empathy only because of the shared background; I don't think you can truly empathize with somebody who has PTSD unless you've had it as well.

I absolutely hate Wolfram's online workbook UI. No matter how careful I am I end up breaking it in so many ways. Delete that image of a horse? Too bad, have to refresh the page to get it back. Click enter incorrectly? That new lin

$300 isn't unreasonable, there is a small dev shop in town with a proprietary CMS that charges $315 for creative/development work; and they're one of the most successful around town.

I don't know about that, single core computers weren't known to be used in a multitasking kinda way. You usually had one main program open at any given time. It's not like my computer with a Packer box running on the left,
