Oddly, except for font sizing, it's OK on the iPhone, and fine on the iPad, too, but it just bothers me endlessly on MacOS. I'm glad Sequoia still works well.

I went back to Sequoia on my M3 MBA not because of speed (which was fine) but aesthetics. Hated the look of Liquid Glass.

My first Apple Silicon machine was an 8GB/512GB M1 MacBook Air. I rarely bumped up against the RAM, but I was pretty happy using between 300-400GB on the SSD, so I really think the 512GB was plenty. I have a 1TB machine now, and typica

I never understood the 256GB SSD on the MBA. That's no space at all.

Wait, my M3 MacBook Air nags me about Apple subscription services? Where? When? And you're right, I can't uninstall Stocks or News, but I if I never open them, does it matter?

Eh, except that a huge number of Office users are there because their employers make them use it, and then use it at home because it's what they know. Not sure it's much of a choice for a lot of them.

As an OG Star Wars fan (I was 21 when it came out), I had a really hard time when my kids liked the prequel trilogy more than the originals. As my youngest once told me (when he was in his teens), the original trilogy was great, but the pre

Well, at least I got the answer to one longstanding question...the relationship between Fry's the electronics store and Fry's the Kroger-owned grocery store. They even have (or had) the same logo!

My father in law grew up in the Denver area. His father made his living as a handyman, and one of his regular customers was Molly Brown (the Titanic survivor known as "The Unsinkable Molly Brown"). Every week he would go to her ho

Office Space has become a part of the corporate culture's shared language. You are out of the loop if you haven't seen it, and it wouldn't surprise me that a lot of people are introduced to it in a work-related environment (a

You sound as though you worked for one of my managers, though he just gave everyone a copy of the DVD for Christmas one year. The thing is, he definitely got it, knew he was part of the system, and did his best to take care of the people wo

Just joined your Early Reader's list. I've already self-published a novel written partially in Markdown, and starting work on another, so I'm anxious to see what you have to say!

It wasn't coding, but tech support...I was on vacation from my law office IT job. All I had was my PalmPilot, the clip-on modem, and my sister's landline phone system. I spent 2-3 hours one day exchanging email with my firm's

Though when things really break out into harmony after the 12 minute mark, it's almost pretty. (Sandra Boynton is amazing, no matter what she does.)

Back in the early 90s I was working IT at a law firm in Seattle. One secretary was having problems with her machine -- I'm no longer sure about the nature of her difficulties, only that none of us on the IT staff could figure it out. S
