If you're easily generating 200GB per month in photos and videos then a NAS would probably make more sense. But keep in mind the vast majority of people don't take that many photos.

Well it's because one of the selling points of Pixel phones was to be able to upload unlimited full quality photos to Google Photos. All other Android phones only got unlimited compressed backups.

If you use Windows the built-in Photos app has pretty good indexing.

Personally I like this new direction Google is going. I am someone who much prefers to pay a few bucks a month over having my data used for ad targeting. Ideally I'd like to see them make all Google platforms ad-free for Google One sub

I remember I called Apple support a few years back to fix a 2FA problem and ended up chatting with the guy about Linux distros for about 10 minutes.

I think it would be a very bad idea to nationalize federal elections. Right now, each state chooses how they run their elections. Some states (like Maine) have chosen to use ranked choice voting while others use first past the post. Nationa

Clearly you disagree with the methodology used by decision desks, however, what /u/stu2b50 said is absolutely the way they have worked in real life for many years. The purpose of a decision desk is to project who will win each ele

Yeah, there are plenty of companies willing to hire people as employees for minimum wage. Can't see what's so bad about having another option for those who don't like traditional employment.

I think Apple added translation to their latest Safari too. They recently introduced their own translation app.

Seems like your arguing that Silicon Valley does capitalism better then anywhere else in the world. If it were a California thing then you would expect similar results in more than one city within the state.

I think Windows is a pretty good example of why backwards compatibility is great and why is also sucks. On one hand, you can probably still run your Windows software that you bought 20 years ago. That's the good. That bad is that many

This doesn't prove the EMH wrong. In order to prove EMH is wrong you need to show someone like Michael Burry can consistently outperform the market using only publically available information. Making one good trade (no matter how large

I often wish there was some kind of "video game" type conferencing software that would emulate an empty room with avatars that can walk around. The important thing being that audio physics works as close as possible to real life.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy phone and one thing I've noticed is that almost all the stock apps (Samsung Health, Samsung Music, Galaxy Store, etc.) have ads. Their apps are actually kinda nice, but the ads are a huge turn off.
