On Samsung's version of Android there is an option to remove the location data before you share to an app. https://i.imgur.com/PVAaA2d.jpg

I think the ETFs would be more useful if they held the top 25 cryptos at market cap weights. That could be kinda a hassle to do individually.

Did you verify that the drives holds 2 TB of data? From Wish.com I wouldn't be surprised to order a 4 TB drive and get a fake 2 TB drive that actually only holds 500 GB.

The problem I have with Twitter is that it's too people centric. For example, I like to follow finance news, so I could probably find some Twitter accounts that post about that. But surely the people running those accounts would also p

I don't think VPNs are that complex. At least if the ads on just about every YouTube video I watch are to be believed. I think VPNs are actually pretty mainstream now.

I think most credit card processors charge something like 30 cents + 2.9%. On large purchases that's about 3%, but on smaller transactions (like those usually used in mobile apps) that 30 cents dominates and could end up being about 30

If news websites can use this to bypass ad blockers then it might still be worthwhile, and I imagine a lot of traffic comes from social media sites these days.

This reminds me a lot of those websites that used to be implemented in Flash. It's just one giant opaque blob that gets downloaded and can do whatever it wants. When this stuff inevitably starts being used by every news and shopping we

I believe the idea is that Windows laptop makers make more money from preinstalled bloatware (McAfee, Candy Crush, etc.) than the cost of the OEM Windows license. So if they ship the laptop with Linux which doesn't support the bloatwar

Yes, that's true. But your argument also applies to those other social networks I mentioned which do offer ad-free premium subscriptions, so clearly there must be some reason it's worthwhile for those companies to offer paid plans

Why doesn't Facebook just introduce a paid subscription? It's not really even a novel concept at this point, we already have YouTube Premium, Reddit Premium, and rumors about a future Twitter Premium.

I'm not sure if I would go so far as to say this is an open core model. This is more like someone developing a proprietary WordPress plug-in, but WordPress itself is completely FOSS.

I don't understand how a social stigma would work for sideloading apps. It works for iMessage because it's a social product. But how would anyone else even know if the apps on your phone were sideloaded or not?
