Thanks again for the resources, there are some there I have not heard of before. I have both Windows and Linux boxes.

I did a little bit of the Rails for Zombies tutorial--knowing I was not ready for it. I got stuck pretty early. tryruby.org was much easier, but I did not finish because I had troubles with the site. I'll try it again. After all this input,

Thanks I appreciate your help. In my area, it seemed like more than half the jobs that mentioned one of the three were for PHP, followed by Python taking a little more than half of the remainder and Ruby taking the rest. (So loosely, out of

My argument for PHP may not be great, which is why I am asking the knowledgeable folks here on HN such as yourself. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Great article, but the does the layout and concept of that blog seem similar to another recent startup blog?

I think Amazon is giving us another way do to it, not the best or only way to do it. I would probably put 5GB of my favorite music to listen to when I don't happen to have my iPod around...and continue to sync files on Dropbox.

I imagine that is true but I am striving for something less "active". I work 45 hours a week for an upper middle class income. But including the commute, the inflexibility of 9-5 and being just plain drained from working in an uninspiring e

Corporate fool here. I take issue with the use of "derogatory". I would be ecstatic if I could bootstrap a startup into providing myself with $100k+ per year, with no potential for substantial growth from there. My impression was that the t

I reloaded your blog after disabling adblock and barely noticed the ad. I don't blame you for keeping it there. Why don't you have any ads on your C Programming Tips site? I'd be interested in the number of hits that gets compared to your b

Wow, I am going to disagree with Steve Blank but I don't think it is a bubble. In a previous comment, I referred to it as a bulge as I do not think it will be nearly as extreme as the previous bubble. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2
