The API hasn't been completely rewritten like the front-end. It was already in PHP and so it stayed in PHP.

The WWW API is written in PHP which interacts with a lot of Go codebases elsewhere in CF. We're going to be publishing more engineering-related blog posts about the new dashboard in the coming days/weeks.

I mean if you never want to improve the language I guess not. The point was that ES5 adoption was really weak at best, and ES6 has been very strong.

Then why not use something like https://6to5.org/ ? Most syntax features can be transpiled without a runtime (generators being an exception) and everything else can simply use polyfills.

I would disagree that this is an issue of separation of concerns, but instead it is a self-imposed separation for developer sanity. They are two different technologies, so one has to do a mental context-switch every time they go from writin

You could take a look at [Ractive.js]( http://www.ractivejs.org/ ). It's not quite caught up with other frameworks but it has a virtual DOM like React and mustache-style templating.

Backbone.Radio is awesome (Bias Disclaimer: I helped write it with James Smith). It's definitely going to replace Wreqr in Marionette 3.0, and we'll be integrating with it much more. There is also a lot of other cool things coming
