The one difference is that videos take up a lot more bandwidth than blogs. Hense, it is still probably prohibitive for the average person to post up videos in this way.

This is a great point. Without some sort of expiration system, keeping credits will probably convince the person to ultimately drop the service.

I think the idea more than anything is that such a system would encourage (force?) people to be more engaged in their advertisements (like the high 5 example he gave). In this way, having a more integrated point system is a very natural ext

Yes, that I think is the best of the social engineering ideas presented in that video, its also one of the easiest for the city to implement in terms of infrastructure. You would make a lot of people mad by doing it though.

I feel like he's fishing for publicity. All he really is doing is another way to make paper conductive, but carbon paper has been around forever.
