I’m not sure if you are referencing the article but a witness made the same link: > Speaking to NBC New York, witness Aki Jakupovic said: “Three random guys walking around in a strange suit, open the sewer, go in like Ninja Turtles.”

I feel like “slight clarification” and “gatekeeping … this hard” are at opposite ends of the pedantry scale and I didn’t say it wasn’t “self-powered”, I merely clarified its capabilities.

Slight clarification: It’s battery powered and has no energy generation or harvesting capability.

What is the relevance of EV in your comment - surely just “automakers” covers your point? The drivetrain seems orthogonal.

I don’t think you are having the same conversation as the rest of us here. Think on what the definition of consciousness is and how we will prove that a machine has it or not. I do not think that the current versions of AI are conscious but

Life can be “switched off” - death is the ultimate off. Some life can be frozen and unfrozen with no ill effects. And life itself doesn’t mean consciousness. And ultimately what is life? Something that has biological processes and reproduce

> They clearly are not conscious Consciousness is emergent. A human is not conscious by our definition until the moment they are. How will we be able to identify the singularity when it comes? I feel like this is what the article is real

If your brain is hardware then what are your thoughts? Is a sperm conscious? Or an egg? When they come together the eventual brain is not conscious immediately.

This has never happened. Batterygate was about stopping individual handsets from rebooting by triggering throttling after a brownout. If you are trying to drive up sales you would just let these out of warranty devices reboot. Literally doi

Here’s my way of thinking: charging overnight on a smart tariff means my cost per mile is a quarter of what it used to be. It could go up by 3x and I’d still save.

You seem to be angry at something and I’m not sure what. You don’t need to replace your car to add Bluetooth support or Qi charging to it but I think you know that there are cheap ways to do that already. It sounds like you don’t have to or
