This might be a dumb question. How did you go from less than 500 page views to more than 180,000 page views in a month? That's the real secret here...

"Security Team"?. I'm honestly curious. I've never seen startups that aren't security startups hiring a security team. Is this a real team or just their developers doing an extra job?

I got an AOL account when I was around 5 or 6. Now I'm finishing my masters degree (this week..yay). It is interesting to wonder what these hackers could get access to with password resets on user's legacy accounts.

Not sure how you can separate DHS from any of the other 3 letter agencies... The cultures are all pretty much the same....

What? Three letter agencies recruit very heavily at my particular school and computer science department. While I can't comment on their hiring practices for people without a college degree (even though I know a few people who have had

How do you even use 40000. For a non uber user and someone who has only taken a cab a few times, that sounds like an incredible amount of money

You're actually lucky that you even got a rejection. I have a friend who has interviewed at quite a few companies that are talked about in high regard by people in the tech industry and after his interview, he hasn't heard back at

I've used i[T] since early beta, shorty. Much better than fitocracy and I think you really hit the nail on the head that your website should help me be more effective (with wil[K]s calc, program templates, and nutrition [2]), instead [

I'm absolutely not shuffling around the question rather than answering it. In a practical sense, the question doesn't matter at all to people trying to live healthier lives. The reason we have fatter people is we have more caloric

The explanation for obesity is simply a caloric surplus. You can't get much simpler than that.

I follow two youtube channels very closely and I think HN should check them out. Both deal with Powerlifting. These two youtube channels are particularly interesting because they both follow two guys who work really really hard. The first i

Even if traffic was the most important thing, one news site won't save you from the big bad wolf. Those things are all being replaced by newer forms of news sites, QA sites, finance sites, etc.

Yahoo has a lot to offer but they were dethroned as top dog and had nothing to fall back on. Look at Google. They become top dog in their subject matter and then they start trying to compete in everything else. mobile OS, robotics, deep lea

And... How is escaping different from sanitizing. I would expect escaping to inheret from sanitizing. The idea is the same. You take user input and put it in a safe format. The programmers needs may be different.

If you never sanitize how do you prevent xss ... For the average web Dev my approach is plenty good enough.. It's funny because your approach still requires sanitizing

This is stupid and I don't see anyone quite hitting the mail on the head as to why. People normally dumb web vulnerabilities together. Xss and sqli especially. Preventing xss you have to sanitize. Preventing sqli you used parameterized

The fact of the matter is amazon is a giant company and cannot thoroughly think through each piece of logic in their system. The reward for focusing on this before-hand is much lower than just writing a check for $5k to this person and then
